This week, the students have been exploring subtraction during numeracy targets. Students use stories to help understand subtraction concepts and solve problems. Students also continue to consolidate their understanding of 'number sentences' (e.g.
44-18=26), practicing how to say, read and write these using the correct symbols. The students were able to show these understanding using 'think boards' which can be found in their maths books. Some examples of these are also found on the wall in the Maths Taurus in the junior school hall. Please ask Tomo if you have any question regarding this.
