What's Happening in Week 8

Inquiry learning intention:
"Why do we share stories?" We will continue to look at how we share stories and will be working in our project groups during learning agreement.

Numeracy learning intentions:
Reading, comparing, ordering and locating two and three digit numbers. (Making large numbers and counting in tens)

Literacy learning experiences:
  • Narrative Writing – children are writing their own stories based on their own experiences.
  • Big Books the children have read or will be reading (Weeks 5-8)
    • The Dinosaur Zoo - ‘Create a list of rhyming words’
    • My Wonderful Aunt – Story 1 ‘Create a list of rhyming words’
    • McBungle’s African Safari - ‘Create a list of rhyming words’
    • The Little Yellow Chicken - ‘ell’
  • Word Study – integrated from the Big Books above.
  • Reading Response – Connect, Extend, Challenge – Big Book ‘How plants grow’
  • Guided Reading
  • Handwriting – the letter ‘z’
