ATTENTION REQUIRED - One-to-one Literacy Support Program

Dear Parent and Grandparent helpers,

We’re starting a new initiative, a one-to-one Literacy Support Program at PHPS, and we need your help. This is the perfect chance to be a part of our school community, and to make a real difference.

We need parents/grandparents or carers to volunteer one hour per week to come in and work one-to-one with students to help with literacy, especially reading and handwriting.

At this stage we are just asking for anyone interested in volunteering to come to an information session where we will explain the program in more detail. We will then run a training program to train volunteer helpers. 

We understand how busy parents and grandparents are, but by volunteering just one hour per week (any hour that suits you), you can make a real difference to a student.

We’d love to get as many parents involved as possible, and look forward to meeting you at the information session in the library on Thursday May 7 at 9.00am.

If you are unable to make that session, please let us know and we can discuss the program informally.
